Great Adirondack Moose Festival
- Where: Indian Lake
- When: September 22 - 24
You are almost guaranteed to catch a glimpse of the elusive Adirondack moose this fall at the Great Adirondack Moose Festival, sponsored by the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce! It's rumored that Bruce the Moose, Monty the Moose, and even Smokey Bear will be attending this year's celebration. Make your way over to Indian Lake and join in on the fun – this is a weekend packed with events and entertainment you won't want to miss! Festivities include popular events from years past, plus some new excitement to level up the celebrations. You'll find everything from a moose calling contest to guided trail hikes at this family-friendly, moose-themed festival. There's a turkey trap shoot, an antique and classic car show, whitewater rafting, and so much more! Oaktoberfest

Get your lederhosen ready! Oaktoberfest in Speculator is back and better than ever! This family-friendly event is bursting with activities and entertainment, including live music with The Altered Tones & Wayward Folk, vendors and a craft market, wine and beer sampling for the adults, a camp store with treats, snacks and games, and even the opportunity to visit with animals at the Utica Zoomobile! And in the spirit of Oaktoberfest, you'll want to be sure to participate in the German costume contest and ride the chairlift to the top of Oak Mountain to enjoy views of the beautiful Adirondack fall foliage. You won't want to miss this one!
Adirondack Kids Day

- When: October 7 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Gather up the family and take a trip over the river and through the woods to Inlet for Adirondack Kids Day! This fun day full of free family activities and events is hosted by the creators of The Adirondack Kids® and sponsored by Kiwanis of the Central Adirondacks. Stop by the Kiwanis tent to pick up your schedule of events and get a free goody bag (while supplies last)! You'll find lots to love throughout this activities-packed day, including face painting, geocaching, a bounce house, and even live raptors! Highlights of this event include the Children's Authors and Illustrators Fair and French Louie's Fishing Derby. Harvest Craft Fair

During the best of autumn's leaf peeping days, be sure to visit the Harvest Craft Fair in Long Lake, sponsored by the Town of Long Lake! Enjoy the fresh mountain air as you browse and shop a bevy of unique, locally hand-crafted items amidst a backdrop of the season's most brilliant colors. With art and craft vendors offering beautiful hand-turned wooden bowls, paintings, balsam, home decor, hand-woven baskets, textiles, jewelry, candles, Alpaca products, and more, you're sure to find something delightful to take home with you!
Octo-bear-fest

While you're in Long Lake, be sure to visit Octo-bear-fest, held at the iconic Hoss's Country Corner. Long known as the place that "has it all", Hoss's ups its game during Octo-bear-fest, featuring vendors, activities, and live music! Stop by and join in the fun at this lively celebration that benefits cancer charities!
