Hiking to Tenant Creek Falls
From the back of the parking area, the trail heads off into the woods. The first falls is reached at 0.9 miles and the second two falls are located 2.1 miles from the trailhead. The trail isn't marked beyond the first, but there is an easily followable herd path along the creek leading to the second and third falls. Your first stop are the dramatic 40-50 foot high cascades, marked by sloping drops with a plunge pool. The second and third falls are smaller, but still lovely. You'll pass through very attractive groves of hemlocks, mature open hardwoods, and scattered very large white pines.
How to get there
Take Old State Road south of Wells to Hope. Proceed until you reach Hope Falls Road on your left, and make that turn. Off of Hope Falls Road, about .4 miles from the end of the road, is a newly constructed parking area right by the trailhead. You can no longer park at the old parking lot at the very end of Hope Falls Road, which is on private property.
