Hiking to Lower Sargent Pond

Leaving from the point, you won't be all that far from Eldon Lake on your right, a picturesque lake worth a gander. Wetland areas near the trail make it a bit wet in spots, but nothing of too much concern. At times difficult to follow, but it is mostly marked as a snowmobile trail, so look for those trail markers. Along the hike, you'll notice a ton of massive trees, including maples and white pine. After a total of just over 3.8 miles from the campground, you'll turn right and go a little over a quarter of a mile to the lean-to site.Lower Sargent is known for having some pretty great fishing opportunities. There is a fish barrier dam that prevents "undesirable" species from making their way here from Raquette Lake.
