The crushed stone-lined trail makes for a nice and relaxing hike back to a small kettle pond. The trail ends at a small primitive campsite and a picnic table.
Getting there
From the intersection of Route 28 and Limekiln Road in Inlet, follow Limekiln Road and turn left on Moose River Plains Road. Follow Moose River Plains Road to Otter Brook Road, which is the second right. Follow that for 0.8 miles to the Icehouse Pond trailhead on the left.

Hiking
This trail is designated as a handicap accessible trail. There is one hill on the way back to the pond where wheelchairs will have a bit more difficulty, but there is a rest stop part way up the hill. This is a popular location for finding moose, so bring the cameras!
Fishing
Shoreline fishing is limited but faint paths do follow the shore for small stretches. There is boat access by way of a canoe or kayak launch, following a gentle 0.4-mile carry. Icehouse Pond gets little attention from fishing, but it is rumored the brook trout fishing is quite decent.
Special regulations: always follow state fishing regulations and be sure to pick up a NYS Freshwater Fishing Guide at your local outfitters or regional DEC office. Use and/or possession of bait fish is prohibited at Icehouse Pond.
