This is a beautiful spot for a scenic paddle or fish on the Fulton Chain. The fish are plentiful and the scenery is superb.

How to get there

Just north of downtown Inlet, on the right, is Sixth Lake Road. Drive 500 yards to the end of the road. Parking at the end of the road is for cottages. Do a U-turn and park along the shoulder of the road. Winter access for ice fishing is not recommended, as this is a snowplow turnaround and the shoulder of the road cannot be parked on in the winter.

Fishing 

The dam seems to be the haunt of rainbow trout at certain times of the year. Pan fish are also common. The dam offers a nice spot for fishing of any type, with room for many anglers.

Paddling

There's a state DEC hand launch here for canoes and kayaks. It's part of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail. It can take 2-hours to paddle Sixth Lake's entire shoreline, and it's possible to paddle into Seventh Lake and then carry to Eighth Lake.
