Indian River

Indian River

The Indian River north of Lake Abanakee (an impoundment of the Indian River) attracts both spin fishers and fly fishers. A note to anglers: water is released into the river periodically to accommodate whitewater rafting, so remain observant. The water may rise rapidly.

How to get there

From the intersection of Route 30 and 28N in Indian Lake, drive southeast on Rte 28N for 1.6 miles and make a left onto Chain Lakes Rd, which follows the river. Access is from various points along this road.

Fishing

Rainbow and brown trout are stocked here annually.
