It is unclear what species of fish reside in this lake. Some surveys note there are no fish, while other accounts speak of rainbow and brook trout. This could make for in interesting fishing adventure!

Getting there

From the intersection of Route 28 and Limekiln Road in Inlet follow Limekiln Road, then take a right on Moose River Plains Road. Next, take the second right on Otter Brook Road, which eventually turns into Indian River Road. Follow that to its end.

Indian Lake Trail extends 2.4 miles from the end of Indian Lake Road to Indian Lake. The trail follows the section of former Indian Lake Road that is now closed to motor vehicles. A short spur trail, leading to the shore of Indian Lake and a campsite, leaves the trail just before it becomes the Indian River Trail.

The roads through the Moose River Plains Wild Forest are very rough, but they can be driven in most cars with some care at slow speeds.

Fishing

Shoreline fishing is decent from the end of the trail, which is 2.6 miles from the parking area. The shore of the pond allows for additional sites to accessed with a bit of scouting.  

Boat access: this is a canoe or kayak launch only. It's a 2.6 mile carry along an old forest road.
