Winter Birding Weekend
Join Adirondack Avian Guide, Joan Collins for Winter Birding adventures in the Adirondacks!
This winter, take a weekend birding trip in the Adirondacks. Participants will search for winter irruptive species like Bohemian Waxwings, and various winter finch species including Red and White-winged Crossbills, Pine Siskins, and Evening Grosbeaks, as well as year-round boreal residents such as the Ruffed Grouse, Black-backed Woodpecker, Canada Jay, and Boreal Chickadee. The food supply is plentiful this year, with an abundance of fruit and many conifer species boasting excellent cone crops. Red Crossbills, which nested in the late summer will likely nest again this winter. White-winged Crossbills and Pine Siskins are also arriving.
