Herbal Study Group at the Old Forge Library

Herbal Study Group at the Old Forge Library

Wild Infusions Herbal Study Group

The study group sessions focus on plants that many think of as only weeds and are found throughout the Adirondacks.

September 24 - Mallow

The discussions include plant identification, medical usage, herbal terminology, and many potential health benefits. This remarkable plant has antimicrobial, hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, and is considered one of the most promising herbal medicinal species.

October 15 - Hawthorn

The final session of the season of the Wild Infusions Herbal Study Group will be held on October 15 when participants will meet to discuss Hawthorn.

Discussions are led by Jessica Maureen Hinsdill of Wild Soulstice, LLC. Hinsdill studies with the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine. She started Wild Soulstice, LLC to provide herbal education and Lyme Disease support to the community. The study group sessions are a great avenue to create a circle of support, a place to reawaken a culture of wellness and rekindle the confidence to "nourish ourselves, our families, and our community".

The group meets at the Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., on Tuesday, September 24, and October 15, at 6 pm.

The monthly sessions are free and open to the public. New attendees are always welcome.
