Lewey Lake Beach Boat Launch

Lewey Lake Beach Boat Launch

The Lewey Lake boat launch is in a remotely-located DEC campground situated halfway between Speculator and Indian Lake, approximately 12 miles from both. Because of the shallow boat access, the beach launch does not allow float-on, float-off trailer launching, and is suggested for only small and light trailered boats. The facility day use fee is required to use this boat launch. Water access between Lewey Lake and Indian Lake is by portage over the spillway underneath the bridge on Route 30, usually restricted to small boats, canoes, and kayaks.

Getting there

From the intersection of Route 8 & 30 in Speculator, drive north on Route 30 for 12.2 miles. The entrance to the Lewey Lake Campground will be on the left side of the road as you drive north.
