Snow & Trail Report – March 23, 2013

Saturday, March 23rd, 2013

Another 2-3 inches of snow and it is still falling lightly.

Snowmobile groomer has been out. Trails are in fair to good condition.

Ski groomers have also been out and they report excellent trails everywhere with 12-14 inches of base if not more.

Ice skating rink is open an in excellent condition and so is the sledding hill.

Snow & Trail Report – March 21, 2013

Thursday, March 21st, 2013

Another 5 or 6 inches of snow overnight here in Inlet.  Don’t trust that snow stick at www.hamiltoncountychoppers.com.  I don’t care what it says.  That stick is in my front yard.  Yesterday it said 9 inches.  This morning I brushed a good 5 inches off the truck and the stick read 10 inches. ?? Must be drifting? Kids shoveling in front of it when I’m not looking? Anyways …

The Inlet snowmobile groomers are out this morning! I saw one in front of the Ole Barn on my way in to work and the other was crossing 28 heading towards Eagle Bay.

No word from the ski groomers yet. Maybe that means they are out on the trails?

Only 20 degrees out there so the ice skating rink should still be in good shape and this new snow on the sledding hill definitely can’t hurt it!

Snow & Trail Report – March 20, 2013

Wednesday, March 20th, 2013

We have received quite a bit of snow over the last couple days.  I am talking over a foot of snow!  There is at least one snowmobile groomer out today working on the Inlet trails.  Trails should be in fair condition today.  Still watch for wet/thin spots, but there may even be some good spots out there! :)

The ski groomers report that all of Fern Park has been groomed including Ralph’s Run and the South Loop.  The Inlet Golf Course has also been recently groomed.  Trails are in very good condition.

Ice skating rink has 2 inches of ice and is in fair condition.  Sledding hill looks good!

Snow & Trail Report – March 19, 2013

Tuesday, March 19th, 2013

We have received another 4 inches of snow overnight and it is still coming down pretty hard right now.

No groomers on the Inlet snowmobile trails that I am aware of.  Not sure if Webb is sending any out today either.  I would call the trails in fair “springlike” condition.

Ski groomer report from Sunday said Fern Park had been groomed and trails there and at the Inlet Golf Course were in fair to good condition.

Ice skating rink is still open and in fair condition.  The sledding hill will look good today!

Snow & Trail Report – March 15, 2013

Friday, March 15th, 2013

Ice Skating Rink is open!  And the sledding hill looks good!

Ski groomers report a 3-4 inch “packy” base throughout Fern Park with fair to good conditions.  10 inch base on 95% of the trails at the Inlet Golf Course and in excellent condition.

I have not seen a snowmobile groomer out yet, but I have seen a couple sleds.  I also talked to Big Moose Yamaha last night and they say riding is still not too bad.

Snofest Deal will continue until April 1, 2013.  Purchase your 2013/14 permit in person for $65 and get this seasons permit to stick on your sled today and we will mail you next season’s sticker in the fall.

Starting April first 2013/14 Preseason Permits will be on sale.  Purchase them online, in person, or mail in your application.  These stickers also will not be mailed to you until September-October.

Snow & Trail Report – March 14, 2013

Thursday, March 14th, 2013

We have received 2-4 inches of snow in the past 24 hours.  Not enough for the groomers to go out, but everything is white again and it is still snowing.

The ski trails at the Inlet Golf Course might be worth a try.  The trails at Fern Park might not be too bad, but are sure to have some wet spots.

The ice skating rink is still closed, and probably will be closed for the rest of the season.  The sledding hill might be fun this afternoon.

Snow & Trail Report – March 5, 2013

Tuesday, March 5th, 2013

Snowmobile trails are still in pretty good shape.  Groomers were out yesterday and one will be out tonight as things cool down again to flatten them up.  Groomers will be out again tomorrow.

Ski groomers were out today and say all trails are in good to excellent condition. All of Fern Park groomed as well as Ralph’s Run, Cliff View, South Loop and Limekiln Road Connector was groomed on Sunday.  The Inlet Golf Course and Limekiln Campground were groomed on Monday.

Ice skating rink is open and looks good and so does the sledding hill.

Forecast shows a high of 35-36 tomorrow, 30 on Thursday, 30-31 on Friday, 37 on Saturday, 35-36 on Sunday with snow on Thursday , Friday & Sunday.  Looks like it will be a great weekend for Snofest!
