Sunday’s rain turned to snow overnight and it snowed all day here on Monday.  Snowed some more for us on Tuesday, leaving a total of 10-12 inches of fresh snow on top of some ice.

Groomers have been out on the snowmobile trails and the cross-county trails leaving them in fair condition.

The sledding hill has plenty of snow and the ice skating rink is finally open!

Winter Update – March 24, 2014

We still have lots of winter here in Inlet and the groomers are still out!

Be careful on the snowmobile trails – the groomers may be working on the wrong side of the trail while they smooth some of the corners.

Cross-country ski trails are in great shape, and the sledding hill and ice skating rink are holding up nicely!

Winter Update – March 19, 2014

Snowmobile trails are still in great shape, thanks to the Inlet Highway Department.  Roads are rough, making the getting in between a little bumpy, but still some of the best riding all season out there.

Cross-country ski trails were all groomed after the last snow storm are holding up pretty nice.

Ice skating rink is still good and so is the sledding hill.

Read this report by Darrin of of his ride yesterday through the Moose River Recreation Area:

Winter Update – March 12, 2014

Yes!  It is still winter in Inlet!  And no, we are not surprised by that!

Winter is supposed to include all of March, and to prove that to us, Mother Nature is dropping a bunch of snow on us right now.  Over 8 inches have fallen today and it is still coming down.  The snowmobile and ski trail groomers will be out some time after the storm to smooth things out and the riding should be real nice this weekend.

Ice skating rink has been looking real good, and this new snow on the sledding hill is going to make for lots of fun!

SNOFEST DEAL still applies! – If you have yet to come ride our snowmobile trails this season, then now is the time.  For only $65 we will sell you a Town of Webb/Inlet snowmobile trail permit that is good for the rest of this season (expires April 1, 2014) and then in October when the new stickers are in we will drop in the mail to you a permit good for the 2104/15 snowmobile season.  Regular permit prices are $80 for the season or $45 for seven consecutive days.  The Snofest Deal must be purchased in person at either the Inlet Information Office or the Town of Webb Visitor Center.

Winter Update – February 26, 2014

Groomers are out and it is snowing!

We have a couple inches of new snow on the ground on top of a solid icy base.  On Friday it rained here.  The rain actually started Thursday night and it rained on & off up until 3:00 pm on Friday when it changed to snow.  It snowed nicely the rest of the day, leaving over 2 inches of good stuff.  Since then it has snowed on & off and the groomers have been out a few times working it in as best they can.

Snowmobile trails are in good condition with some icy corners.

Cross-country ski trails are in fair to good condition – a little too icy in most places.

Sledding hill looks good and the ice skating rink is nice!

Winter Update – February 6, 2014

We got some snow!  About a foot of snow fell upon us from this last “storm.”

Groomers are all out, packing and working this new snow in.  Snowmobile trails are going to be a little mealy until the snow is packed firm.  Should be some good riding this weekend!  Cross-country trails will all be nice and groomed and ready for the weekend as well.

Lots of snow on the sledding hill, and the ice at the rink is in great condition.

Winter Update – January 31, 2014

It is snowing!  Not a heavy snow, but we will take any snow Mother Nature sends us right now.  This morning I felt overdressed in my hat & mittens while I waited for the school bus to pick up the boys.  It was 20 degrees above zero!

Snowmobile groomers are out today.  They made a trip to Eagle Bay and then headed out into the Moose River Plains.  They will make another trip to Eagle Bay before ending the day.

Cross-country ski trails have all been groomed over the last few days also.  Groomers are reporting all trails hard packed and in good condition. The sledding hill looks good and the ice skating rink is in excellent shape.

Think snow!

Winter Update – January 29, 2014

It is cold!  Currently 1 degree out there.  Above Zero!

Finally got some snow so the groomers could go out!  Fern Park has been groomed, but I do not think the golf course has been touched yet.  Snowmobile trails were groomed yesterday and out again today in the Moose River Plains and towards Eagle Bay.

Ice skating rink is excellent, sledding hill has snow (and is getting primed for the Cardboard Sled Race on February 22!!)
