Moose River Plains Draft UMP – Please take the time to review and comment ASAP!
It’s time for ACTION before 15,000 acres of the Moose River Plains Wild Forest is re-classified as Wilderness and added to the West Canada Lake Wilderness Area.
This would close miles of roads & trails and is yet another incremental step toward taking away one of Inlet’s most valuable assets – the Moose River RECREATION Area.
In general this draft UMP is a good, workable plan but there are several points which must be opposed.
Review the draft UMP critique here then SEND YOUR COMMENTS to APA & DEC.
The comment period is currently set to close August 30th.
It is IMPERATIVE that this Wilderness grab is stripped from the final draft UMP.

Sunsets by the Lake – August 28 – Trial & Error
August 28 – Trial & Error – 6-8pm
Rain location Fern Park Pavilion.
Inspired by artists as diverse as The Memphis Jug Band and Bob Dylan, Trial and Error plays music from the canon of American traditional music, old time country, piedmont blues and sixties folk music. The duo features Jim Tracy playing banjo, guitar and harmonica and Bonnie Tracy on the doghouse bass.
The couple have been associated with many regional Adirondack groups over the years including Wild Oats, The Hooper Dooper String Band and Whistle Gang, The Flying Galoots, The Fulton Chain Gang, Bailey’s Blues Band, The Gwen and Jim Show and Rock Stock and Barrel (which, rumor has it, may be considering a reunion later this Summer).
This concert is sponsored by the Town of Inlet, the Central Adirondack Association, ADKPictures.com and Nelson’s Cottages, and is also funded in part by the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Regrant Program. In Hamilton County, the Decentralization Program is administered by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts located in Blue Mountain Lake.
