Nicks Lake Campground

Camping

Nicks Lake Campground is a state DEC Campground with over 100 campsites available for reservation. In winter, it is open for snowmobiling. Families can enjoy flushing toilets, showers, a playground, recycling areas, hiking trails, and more! The namesake lake has great bass fishing and loons are regularly seen here. Hiking and biking trails offer a great mix of intermediately difficult, family-oriented fun.

Hiking

Distance: The one-way distance to Remsen Falls is 3.5 miles. 

Cycling

Remsen Falls can be done in 3 hours or so on a mountain bike.

Fishing

Nicks Lake is a 205-acre shallow lake closed to motor boats, and with the reputation for great fishing. Expect lunker bass or brown trout.

Swimming

Designated swimming areas will have lifeguards on duty during posted beach hours. Even non-campers can use campground amenities with payment of a small day use fee.

Paddling

Nicks Lake is open to canoes, kayak, and SUPs. No motorized craft is allowed. There is a launch located within the campground and non-campers can use this launch for a small fee. 

Accessibility

There's ADA Accessible restrooms and a playground for the little ones.

Snowmobiling

Winter access at the campground can be difficult as it is open to snowmobile traffic. The trails to Remsen Falls are also snowmobile access and not recommended for ski and snowshoe travel. 

There are snowmobile trails to Nelson Lake and Remsen Falls, with multiple trails located around Nicks Lake to create multiple loops.
